What can I monitor?

Any public RSS or Atom feed that Subabot can access. Think blogs, news sites, project changelogs, and communities with feeds. It does not search the entire web or bypass a site’s login. Coverage depends on what each publisher includes in its feed.

How do the keywords work?

Subabot checks feed item titles and available content for your keywords. You can match any or all of your keywords, and add exclusions to remove unwanted results. Matches are case-insensitive. You choose the sources and the rules.

Do I need a Slack account?

No. You can read matches in your Subabot inbox. To receive Slack alerts, add an incoming webhook for a channel you control. Your workspace needs a running Subabot backend to check feeds and send alerts.

Does Subabot use AI?

No. This version uses predictable keyword matching. No AI provider receives your feeds or rules, and you do not need an AI API key. You can see exactly why an item matched.

What does it cost?

Subabot is open-source software. There is no paid plan or checkout in this version. If you run your own instance, you cover your hosting costs. Public instances may have usage limits.

Can other people see my monitors?

Your monitors are private to your workspace unless you explicitly publish a shareable configuration. Shared pages expose the monitor description, source URLs, keywords, and matching stories, never your Slack webhook. Workspace access is saved in this browser, so download a private recovery file before clearing browser storage.
