A few ground rules.
Subabot helps you monitor public feeds. These terms explain the scope of the tool and the responsibilities that come with using it.
What Subabot does
Subabot checks accessible public RSS and Atom feeds, matches available feed content against your keyword rules, and stores matching items in a workspace. If you connect a Slack incoming webhook, it can also send matching items to that destination.
It is not a complete search engine. Feed coverage, publishing delays, network conditions, software errors, and instance configuration can affect results and delivery. Do not rely on it as the sole source for time-critical or safety-critical alerts.
Your workspace and connections
Keep your workspace access key and Slack webhook private. You are responsible for the feeds you add, the destinations you connect, and the configurations you publish. Only connect destinations that you are authorized to use.
Use public feeds in accordance with their publishers’ terms. Do not use Subabot to bypass access controls, overload services, distribute spam, or collect information unlawfully. An instance operator may set usage limits or restrict activity that threatens the service or other users.
Source content belongs to its publisher
Feed items may contain material owned by third parties. A match does not transfer ownership or grant permission to republish that material. Follow the original link for full context and respect the source’s rights and attribution requirements.
Open-source software
The software is distributed under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0, as described in the repository’s license file. Your rights to use, modify, and distribute the software are governed by that license.
The license includes warranty and liability terms. Read it before relying on or redistributing the software. These usage notes do not replace its terms.
Hosting and availability
This version has no paid subscription or checkout. Self-hosting may incur infrastructure costs. A separately operated public instance may have its own rules, limits, or policies. There is no uptime commitment for the open-source project.
Keep a copy of information you need to retain. The project may change, and data availability depends on the server and its operator.
Privacy and questions
